Food help in Houston and Harris County
Need groceries now, help with an application, or food support for an older adult? These are different services. Start with the option that matches your need rather than traveling to a food bank address without a pickup plan.
Use your own ZIP code for Houston, Pasadena, Baytown or another Harris County community. A Houston mailing address alone does not establish the service area of a particular pantry.
Where to start
Find a neighborhood pickup site
Houston Food Bank Find Food Map
Enter your ZIP code in the official map to find pantries and meal programs. Open a result for its location and published service information.
Confirm the pickup address and access requirements with that site. A map result is not a reservation.

Benefit application assistance
Houston Food Bank Community Assistance Program
Community Resource Navigators help with SNAP, Medicaid, TANF and CHIP applications. The program offers phone assistance and in-person appointments, with English and Spanish support.
Ask which documents apply to your household. An application appointment is separate from grocery pickup and does not guarantee benefit approval.

Senior food-program starting point
Houston Food Bank Senior Box Map
The Senior Box map provides a separate starting point for this program. Use its contact information to ask about enrollment and a distribution location you can reach.
Do not assume that a pantry visit enrolls you in Senior Box. Ask the program about current eligibility, space and pickup arrangements.

Search closer to home
Choose free-food results for pantries and meals. SNAP retailers are stores where eligible purchases use EBT; they are a separate search.
Search all of TexasBefore you make the trip
- Is food being distributed at this exact location, and at what time?
- Do I need an appointment or any documents? Does this site serve my address?
- Can I walk up, use public transportation or arrange for someone to collect food for me?
- Can this location meet my food or accessibility needs? If not, where else should I try?
